Conceptual High-Rise Design Project

Parasites is an experimental design for futuristic high-density skyscrapers created using parametric processes. The name is derived from the parasitic nature of the “pods” that define the facades, which appear to envelop and overpower the structures that lie beneath them. Designed via tools of algorithmic modeling, these three towers exhibit the power of parametric design to create dynamic structures that layer designs at varying degrees of intensity.
By establishing consistent visual patterns in the development of these systems, a clear visual identity evolved for this clustered approach. In addition, this project was developed as a vehicle for representational exploration, with special attention given to the lighting conditions in which the buildings functioned. The ability of these structures to generate unique shading characteristics between its layers was an additional design consideration.
